Norman Drake
Norman Drake ( Norman Hercy Drake ; born July 7, 1912 in Retford , Nottinghamshire , † November 16, 1972 in Blackpool ) was a British hammer thrower .
At the British Empire Games in London in 1934 he was starting sixth for England . At the Olympic Games in Berlin in 1936 and in London in 1948 , he was eliminated from the qualification. In 1950 he finished fourth at the British Empire Games in Auckland .
In 1936 and 1948 he became English champion. He set his personal best of 49.93 m on June 29, 1946 in Manchester .
