Norman Solomon (born July 7, 1951 ) is an American journalist and antiwar activist. He is known as an author of media-critical non-fiction books.

Life

In addition to his long-standing collaboration with the Media Watch organization Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR), he is also the founder and managing director of the Institute for Public Accuracy , an association of American political scientists that strives to open up alternative sources of information to journalists. His column "Media Beat" has appeared in various newspapers across the United States since 1992.

His book War Made Easy was translated into a documentary with the subtitle "When America's Presidents Lie". It shows how the language and rhetoric of the US presidents were almost identical when it came to convincing the population through manipulation and propaganda with the help of the media that they had to mobilize the American military and, in the course of the war or at the end, the untruths the alleged need has been revealed.
