Norman William Devil

Norman William Teufel (born June 15, 1928 in Buffalo , New York , United States , † March 2015 ) was an American jeweler .

Life

Norman Teufel graduated from Seneca Vocational High School in Buffalo in 1946 . In 1971 he developed his Swinger Ring ( German  Schwingring ); a gold jewelry ring in which he worked small stainless steel ball bearings and thus enabled the effect of "dancing, rotating diamonds" on a rail attached to it. Soon after, he began making the rings in Beverly Hills , California .

In 1970, the devil's son Cameron began his apprenticeship in his father's company at the age of fourteen and has since been involved in the design and technical implementation of the ring concept of the Motion Rings (German: movable rings ), for which the term spinner rings ( to spin , turn) came up. After Norman Teufel retired in 1991, Cameron Teufel took over the family business that had secured the copyright for the rings. Today Teufel Inc. stands for high diamond purity (si1, small inclusions) and high degrees of color (FG, up to fine white +).

Awards

In 1975 Teufel won the De Beers Diamonds International Award for the design and shape of its rings ; by 1981 he won four other De Beers Diamonds Today Awards .
