The North Palmer River is a river in the northeast of the Australian state of Queensland . It is located in the Far North Queensland region .

geography

The river has its source on the northwest slopes of Mount Lukin in the Atherton Tablelands , which are part of the Great Dividing Range , about 75 km southwest of Cooktown . From there it flows strongly meandering to the west-southwest along the southern border of the Aboriginal Quinkan Indigenous Reserve , crosses the Palmer Goldfield Resources Reserve and flows into the Palmer River at its southwest corner .
