Nostra Signora de La Salette is a parish and titular church in the Roman quarter Gianicolense on the Piazza Madonna de La Salette. The church is dedicated to Our Lady of La Salette .

history

On September 19, 1846, Maria appeared in La Salette. In 1852 the Order of Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette was founded, who built their generalate in Rome in 1896 . At the beginning of the 20th century a monastery complex with a chapel was built. On June 18, 1957, by decree of Cardinal Vicar Clemente Micara, the parish was established and the missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette were entrusted with pastoral care. The chapel was initially used for the parish. The church was built between 1957 and 1965 to designs by architects Vivina Rizzi and Ennio Canino .

Pope Paul VI elevated her to the title church on April 29, 1969.

On the outside a wide staircase leads to the entrance. A concrete roof covers the statue of Our Lady of La Salette above the entrance. At 52 meters high, the bell tower is one of the tallest in Rome.

In the apse, dark blue and white glass windows frame a large wooden crucifix.
