The Notre-Dame church

The Roman Catholic Church of Notre-Dame in Isômes , a French parish in the Haute-Marne department , is a Gothic church built in the 13th century . It has been classified as a Monument historique since 1840 .

history

The church was built in two sections. The first comprised the eastern parts with the choir and bell tower and the lower parts of the outer walls. The nave was only completed in a second construction phase. Thereby, a conception borrowed from the Cistercian style of the 12th century was changed to the sober style of the second third of the 13th century. Until the 19th century the church was changed little. From 1849, Émile Boeswillwald undertook a restoration. The roof and part of the facade collapsed in 1891; then the entire system was restored.
