The airline was founded in 1975 by Raymond Bellanger under the name Air Affaires Gabon. In 1996 Air Affaires Gabon and Gabon Air Transport were merged; the company has been operating under the name Nouvelle Air Affaires Gabon since then .
The company is - under the name of its no longer available website SN2AG - exempted from the landing ban of Gabonese airlines in the list of operating bans for the airspace of the European Union .
