November is a Swedish rock band founded in Stockholm in 1969 by Christer Stålbrandt, Richard Rolf and Björn Inge.

Band history

Their music is essentially influenced by American acid rock , with influences from heavy metal and blues , and resembles a mixture of Cream , Mountain and Led Zeppelin . November 1968 began in Tegelhögen, a youth club in Vällingby (a Stockholm suburb). Christer Stålbrandt and Björn Inge played in this club with two friends as The Imps. After a few months Stålbrandt left the group to form a new band called Train. Björn Inge soon followed suit. Train also included Snowy White as a guitarist. In the early autumn of 1969, Snowy decided to return to his native England and Richard Rolf joined as the new guitarist.

On November 1, 1969, they played as the opening act for Fleetwood Mac in the Que Club in Gothenburg and they therefore gave themselves the band name November .

November was one of the first Swedish rock bands to write Swedish lyrics. Most of the lyrics were written by Stålbrandt, who was influenced by the 1960s hippie movement. Despite the Swedish lyrics, November was successful in England. During the England tours, the lyrics were often translated into English, but fans insisted that the Swedish lyrics be sung.

November recorded four albums, three studio albums and one live album. After their last concert at Club Domino at the New Year's Eve party in 1972, November separated. In between, they only appeared together on November 30, 1993 at the release party for their 1971 live CD.

Christer Stålbrandt tried to found the Swedish group Saga, Björn Inge joined the jazz rockers Energy and Richard Rolf became one of the founding members of Bash.

On January 27, 2007, they performed together again at the 20th anniversary of the Mellotronen label. This was followed by several appearances.
