Nowa Słupia (formerly Słupia Nowa ) is a town in the powiat Kielecki of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship in Poland . The city with 1400 inhabitants is the seat of the city-and-country municipality of the same name (until 1954 Gmina Słupia Nowa) with about 9500 inhabitants.

history

The town charter was granted in 1351 and revoked in 1869.

From 1975 to 1998 the place and municipality belonged to the Kielce Voivodeship . The mayor Andrzej Czesław Gąsior was confirmed in his post in the local elections in 2018. On January 1, 2019, Nowa Słupia was restored to town.
