Novgorod Schra
The Novgorod Schra (also: Skra ; plural: Schraen or Schragen ) was the court order of the Peterhof , the office of the Hanseatic League in Novgorod .
The court rules of the Peterhof are the only court rules of one of the four Hanseatic offices that have been handed down in full in writing. At the same time, it is probably also the strictest court order of a Hanseatic office. The Schra contains the rules of the coexistence of the Hanseatic merchants ( Novgorod drivers ) and the entire own judiciary as an isolated "city" in the city, largely isolated from the local population and their local law under the leadership of an elderly man as the bearer of administration and jurisdiction .
Seven versions of the Schra have survived, the content of which combine the city-law regulations with those of the merchants' cooperatives . The first version was probably created as early as the middle of the 13th century under Gotland's dominance , the second before 1295 recognized Lübeck for the first time as Oberhof , the last from 1466. Due to the position of the city of Lübeck as a suburb of the Hanseatic League and the control of the Kontore through their advice as the last instance, the Schragen are strongly influenced by Luebian law from the second version . A printed publication of all seven versions appeared in 1911 in Dorpat . A digital edition was later created at the University of Erlangen .
