Nowickea is a genus within the family of Pokeweed (Phytolaccaceae). It occurs with two types only in Mexico .
description
Nowickea -species of growing herbaceous plants that are similar to pokeweed ( Phytolacca ). The upright shoot axes lignify somewhat at their base.
The green and white flowers are hermaphroditic with a simple flower envelope . The ovaries consist of seven to ten carpels , the terminal styles of which are fused at the base. The ovary and the fruit developing from it are lifted out of the 3 to 12 millimeter long petals by a gynophore .

The genus Nowickea was created by Julieta G. Martínez and J. Andrew McDonald in Nowickea (Phytolaccaceae), a New Genus with Two New Species from Mexico. , In: Brittonia , Volume 41, No. 4, 1989, pp. 399-403.
There are only two types of Nowickea :
- Nowickea glabra J.Martínez & JAMcDonald
- Nowickea xolocotzii J.Martínez & JAMcDonald
