The location of Wibbeltrath in the Wuppertal district of Vohwinkel on the border with the communities of Haan and Solingen .

Wibbeltrath is located north of Wuppertaler Straße Westring , which merges into Gräfrather Straße in Haan . The village of Bolthausen is to the east of it .
The federal motorway 46 and the route of the former railway line Solingen-Wuppertal-Vohwinkel (colloquially "corkscrew railway ") run in the vicinity .
history
Wibbeltrath is an old place name and is mentioned in 1217 as Wiboltrathe , 1218/31 as Wippelrode and 1306 as de Wibelroyde . The name means the clearing of a Wibolt.
Until the beginning of the 19th century Wibbeltrath belonged to the Oberste Honschaft Haan in the Bergisches Amt Solingen , until 1929 it belonged to Haan and then came to Wuppertal.
A street that used to be called Gruitener Weg was renamed Wibbeltrather Weg in 1935.
