Novopokrowka ( Kyrgyz and Russian Новопокровка ; older spelling Ново-Покровка Novo-Pokrovka ) is a village in the north of the Central Asian state of Kyrgyzstan .

Novopokrowka is located in the Ysyk-Ata Rajon (district) in the Tschüi region immediately east of the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek . Around 5000 residents, some of German origin, once lived in the village, and almost all of them have now emigrated to Germany. There are two mosques in the village today , a Russian Orthodox church and a Baptist church. A few kilometers southeast of Novopokrowka is the base used by the Russian Air Force near Kant .

Infrastructure

Nowopokrovka extends along the trunk road from Bishkek to Issyk Kul . Marshrutki and buses run between Novopokrowka and Bishkek . The railway line between Bishkek and Balyktschy runs south of the village ; However, trains only stop in Novopokrowka when needed .
