Noxa is an Indonesian grindcore band from Jakarta that was formed in 2002.

history

The band was founded in mid-March 2002 by drummer Robin Oxen and guitarist Ade Himernio Adnis. Initially the band covered songs from Nasum's album Inhale / Exhale , as well as old songs from Napalm Death . A short time later, singer Tonny and bassist Dipa Biomantara joined the line-up. After a few local appearances, the band recorded their debut album in November 2002 at DE Studio in Jakarta. The resulting 18 songs, which were about a minute long on average, were released on August 22, 2003 as a self-titled debut album on the band's own label. The release was followed by appearances in Singapore and Malaysia . Music videos were also produced for five songs on the album. In early 2004, the recordings for the second album began. The soundtrack for the drums was recorded in the DE studio, the other instruments and the vocals were recorded in the Coliseum Studio in Jakarta. The songs were mixed and mastered in the Stonedeaf Studio in New York City . The album was released on October 1, 2006 under the name Grind Viruses in self- publication , whereby the circulation was limited to 1000 copies.

On June 28, 2008 the band took part in the Tuska Open Air Metal Festival . On July 2nd and 3rd, two appearances followed in Helsinki together with Lie in Ruins , Dauntless and Sightless . Shortly thereafter, Grind Viruses was re-released through Stay Heavy Records . Music videos were also produced for two songs on the album. On January 17, 2009, drummer Oxen died in a motorcycle accident and was replaced by Alvin in July. On July 15, 2010, the group took part in the Obscene Extreme . This was followed by a tour of the Czech Republic together with The Arson Project , Krush , Whorsenations and Xaros. In 2011 the next album Legacy was released on Stay Heavy Records.

style

The band plays aggressive grindcore, the songs being very short and fast. Sometimes influences from Thrash Metal and Hardcore Punk are also processed.
