Nquthu [ nˈǃutʰu ] (also Nqutu , isiZulu ; German for example: "Vessel with a flat top") is a place in the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal . It is the administrative seat of Nquthu Township in Umzinyathi District .
geography
In 2011 Nquthu had 5453 inhabitants. The place is about 53 kilometers east of Dundee .
history
The place was named after the shape of a nearby hill. It belonged to Homeland KwaZulu until its dissolution in 1994 .
Economy and Transport
Nquthu is on the R68 , which leads to Dundee and south-east to Melmoth .
