The nucleoside antibiotics are a group of antibiotics which are derived from nucleosides . They are not used in human medicine.

The nucleoside antibiotics have a similar structure, but differ in their mechanisms of action. The antibacterial nucleoside antibiotics inhibit the biosynthesis of the cell wall by inhibiting the bacterial translocase I (MraY). The fungicidal nucleoside antibiotics also act on the cell wall, but they inhibit chitin synthase . The antiviral nucleoside antibiotics block peptidyl transferase .
