Jalognes is a French municipality with 292 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Cher in the region Center-Val de Loire . It belongs to the Arrondissement Bourges and the municipality association Pays Fort Sancerrois Val de Loire .
geography
The municipality of Jalognes is located about 40 kilometers northeast of Bourges in flat terrain south of the hill country of Collines du Sancerrois . The Benelle , a tributary of the Vauvise, has its source in the municipality . Jalognes borders Veaugues in the north, Gardefort in the Northeast, Feux in the east, Groises the southeast, Azy in the southwest and Montigny in the West.

Attractions
- Château de Pesselières: Castle complex in the south of the municipality from the 14th century. After the French Revolution, the drawbridge was replaced by a stone bridge; the moats are meadows today. The Södost wing and the gardens have been in a neo-Gothic style since the reconstruction in 1881. The complex is protected as a monument historique .
