Sury-ès-Bois is located in central France , about 51 kilometers northeast of Bourges . The Salereine river crosses the municipality to the south. Sury-ès-Bois is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Pierrefitte-ès-Bois in the north, Santranges in the northeast, Savigny-en-Sancerre in the east, Assigny in the southeast, Jars in the south, Thou in the southwest and Vailly-sur-Sauldre in the west.
