Marmagne is a banlieue to the west of Bourges . The Canal de Berry runs through the municipality ; the river Yèvre delimits the municipality to the north. Marmagne is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Mehun-sur-Yèvre in the north and northwest, Berry-Buoy in the north, Saint-Doulchard in the northeast, Bourges in the east, La Chapelle-Saint-Ursin in the southeast, Morthomiers in the south and Saint-Thorette in the west and southwest.

The A71 autoroute runs through the municipality .
