Cistercian Abbey of Beauvoir
The Cistercian Abbey Beauvoir was 1234-1791 a monastery of Cistercian nuns in Marmagne , Cher department , in France.
history
Robert von Courtenay and his wife founded the Notre-Dame de Beauvoir monastery on the banks of the Yèvre (later also the Canal de Berry ) in 1234 , which was closed in 1791 by the French Revolution . There are no residues. Between Mehun-sur-Yèvre and Marmagne, only the field name Beauvoir and the street names Virage de Beauvoir , Moulin de Beauvoir and Chemin du Camp de Beauvoir remind of the former monastery.
