The Yèvre (Latin Avara [f.]) Is a river in France that runs in the Cher department in the Center-Val de Loire region . It rises under the name Ruisseau de Gron in the municipality of Gron , first drains in a south-westerly direction, then turns to the northwest and after around 80 kilometers flows into the Cher in the urban area of Vierzon as a right tributary . In the section between Bourges and Vierzon, the abandoned Canal de Berry canal follows the course of the Yèvre.
