Farges-en-Septaine is located in the Berry about 19 kilometers east of Bourges . Farges-en-Septaine is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Brécy in the north, Villabon in the northeast, Baugy in the east, Avord in the south, Savigny-en-Septaine in the west and south-west and Nohant-en-Goût in the west and north-west.

The Avord military airfield ( Base aérienne 702 ) is located in the municipality .
