Saint-Ambroix is about 32 kilometers west-southwest of Bourges am Arnon . The Pontet tributary runs along the eastern border of the municipality . Saint-Ambroix is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saugy in the north, Civray in the northeast, Primelles in the east and southeast, Mareuil-sur-Arnon in the southeast, Ségry in the south, Chouday in the west and southwest and Issoudun in the west and northwest.
