Sury-près-Léré is located in central France , about 57 kilometers northeast of Bourges on the Loire , which forms the eastern municipal border. The Canal latéral à la Loire runs through the municipality . Sury-près-Léré is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Belleville-sur-Loire in the north, Neuvy-sur-Loire in the north-east, La Celle-sur-Loire in the east and south-east, Léré in the south and Savigny-en-Sancerre in the west and south-west .
