La Chapelle-Montlinard is a French municipality with 471 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Cher in the region Center-Val de Loire . It belongs to the canton of Avord (until 2015: canton of Sancergues ) and to the Loire, Nièvre et Bertranges municipal association .

La Chapelle-Montlinard is located in the Berry about 46 kilometers east-northeast of Bourges on the Loire and on the Canal latéral à la Loire . La Chapelle-Montlinard is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Herry in the north, Mesves-sur-Loire in the northeast, La Charité-sur-Loire in the east, Argenvières in the south and Saint-Martin-des-Champs in the west.

The Route Nationale 151 and the Via Lemovicensis , one of the four historical " Routes of the St. James pilgrims in France ", run through the village .
