Watterbach is a district of the market in Kirchzell in the Odenwald in the Miltenberg district in Bavaria .

geography

The church village of Watterbach is located on the Waldbach at 250  m above sea level. NHN on the district road MIL 7 between Breitenbuch and Kirchzell. The state border with Hessen runs in the north-west . To the east is the Otterbach belonging to Amorbach , to the northwest is Boxbrunn in the Odenwald .

history

Watterbach was established in 1395 in Amorbacher monastery reclaimed first mentioned. The former municipality had a total of 408 inhabitants in 1964, of which 191 in the main town, 167 in the associated parish village of Breitenbuch , 29 in the hamlet of Dörnbach and 21 in the hamlet of Schrahmühle. The community was incorporated into Kirchzell on January 1, 1975.
