Nune Tumanyan ( Armenian Նունե Թումանյան, born October 23, 1963 in Yerevan ) is an Armenian artist and sculptor .

Live and act

Nune Tumanyan graduated from an art school and later the art college . From 1984 to 1985 she studied sculpture at the Art Academy in Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg , Russia ) and obtained her master's degree at the Artistic-Theatrical Institute of Yerevan (now the Art Academy ). Between 1995 and 2009, Tumanyan was a professor at the Art Academy. Tumanyan has been a member of the Armenian Artists Union since 1996 and head of the sculpture department since 2014.

Tumanyan's artistic work is mostly in bronze , sometimes in combination with other materials such as glass , wood , stone etc. Nune Tumanyan's art expresses the diverse spiritual world of man, a world that is constantly in motion, in conflict, full of joy, doubt and also frustration .

Nune Tumanyan participates in numerous national and international exhibitions and artistic competitions. Her works are in the National Gallery of Armenia, privately owned and in corporate collections.

Awards

Nune Tumanyan has won several international art prizes , including a 1998 award from the Dante City Gates Biennale in Ravenna, Italy. At the international art exhibition Women & Art 2014 in Sharjah , United Arab Emirates , she was awarded the main prize for the best work that interprets the theme of peace .
