Nuolen is a village in the municipality of Wangen in the March district of the canton of Schwyz in Switzerland .
geography
Nuolen lies at an altitude of 410 m above sea level. M. directly on the upper Lake Zurich , below the Buechberg on the delta of the Wäggitaleraa. It has around 500 inhabitants and belongs to the municipality of Wangen.
The mining of alluvial gravel and its shipping on Lake Zurich by Kibag is known and important . This is the last remnant of the once important load transport on the lake. The saloon steamer Helvetia was scrapped in the Kiebitz marina in 1963 . The hull was sunk.
Events
Nuolen is one of the two locations of the Ausserschwyz Cantonal School (former Pfäffikon and Nuolen Cantonal Schools). To the west of the village lies the Nuoler Ried nature reserve , which borders the Wangen-Lachen sports airport.
