Nuoler Ried

The Nuoler Ried is a nature reserve in the Swiss canton of Schwyz .

The reed is located on the banks of the upper Lake Zurich between Nuolen and the Wangen-Lachen airfield in the municipality of Wangen SZ . It was created by the deposition of sediments from the Wägitaler Aa and is a breeding area for birds ( curlew , lapwing ). The bog is listed in the federal inventory of landscapes and natural monuments of national importance and has also been a cantonal nature reserve since 1980.

In the summer of 2014, a wolf attacked sheep in the Nuoler Ried was discovered.
