The Wägitaler Aa is a 14 km long river in the March district of the Swiss canton of Schwyz . It belongs to the catchment area of the Rhine.
The Aa gives the outflow of the Wägitalersee , one since 1924 at 900 m above sea level. M. lying reservoir . It is therefore used by the city of Zurich's electricity company and Axpo AG to generate electricity . The river follows the Wägital , which gives it its name, and passes the community of Vorderthal at 735 m above sea level. M.
At 642 m above sea level M. is another reservoir. Shortly afterwards the Wägitaler Aa takes the Trepsenbach on the right side. In the plain it is canalized and forms the municipality boundary between Galgenen and Wangen . When you laugh , it flows into Lake Zurich .
