Nuraghe Tittiriola

The Nuraghe Tittiriola is located in a nuragic settlement with a well sanctuary , dolmen and giant grave on the edge of a plateau overlooking the valley of the Rio Bardosu, near Bolotana in the province of Nuoro in Sardinia . Nuraghi are prehistoric and early historical towers of the Bonnanaro culture (2200–1600 BC) and the subsequent nuragic culture (around 1600–400 BC) in Sardinia.

The Nuraghe Tittiriola is a simple Tholos or Monoturmnuraghe ( Italian Monotorre ) about 14.0 m in diameter and a residual height of about 9.3 m, built from rows of basalt blocks . The access to the round, slightly eccentric chamber is about 1.1 m wide and 1.65 m high. The chamber has three niches, the left of which is internally angled at right angles. The upper levels used to be reached via a staircase. A window opening is visible above the lintel of the entrance.

Nearby are the stone circle and the Ortakis nuraghe.
