Katarína Studeníková (born September 2, 1972 in Bratislava , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Slovak tennis player .

Career

Studeníková, who preferred the hard court, had her first game in the main draw of a WTA tournament in 1993 at the Amway Classic in Auckland against Nicole Arendt , to whom she lost 4-6 and 1-6.

She celebrated one of her greatest career successes in 1996 when she defeated Monica Seles in the second round at Wimbledon .

In 1996 she took part in the Olympic Games in Atlanta for Slovakia . She lost there in the first round with 2: 6 and 3: 6 against Ai Sugiyama .

For the Slovak Fed Cup team , she played three singles and three doubles, of which she won two singles and one doubles.
