Nurbergen Batyrghaliuly Schumaghasijew ( Kazakh Нұрберген Батырғалиұлы Жұмағазиев , Russian Нурберген Батыргалиевич Жумагазиев Nurbergen Batyrgalijewitsch Schumagasijew * 29. November 1990 in Oral ) is a Kazakh Shorttracker .

Career

Schumaghasijew made his debut in Sofia in February 2009 in the Short Track World Cup and took 32nd place over 1000 m and 23rd place over 500 m. His best result at the 2010 World Championships in Sofia was 31st place over 1500 m. Two years later, he won 34th place in the all- around at the 2012 World Championships in Shanghai . At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , he came in 29th place over 500 m and in fifth place with the relay. In March 2014 he finished 26th in the all- around competition and 19th in the 500 m at the 2014 World Championships in Moscow . In the 2014/15 season he achieved his first top ten placements in the World Cup. At the beginning of the 2016/17 season in Salt Lake City he came on the podium for the first time in the World Cup with third place in the relay. At the World Cup in Gangneung in December 2016, he won his first world cup over 1000 m. At the Winter Universiade in Almaty in February 2017, he won the bronze medal over 1500 m and with the relay. At the following and last World Cup of the season in Minsk , he took third place twice over 1000 m and reached third place in the World Cup over 1000 m. He was also there third with the relay. His best results at the 2017 World Championships in Rotterdam were 29th place over 1500 m and sixth place with the relay. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang he ran to 25th place over 1000 m, 18th place over 500 m and sixth place with the relay and at the 2019 World Championships in Sofia, he took 31st place in the all-around competition.
