Ahmet Nuri Eren
Ahmet Nuri Eren (* 1918 in Izmir ; † November 5, 2000 in Istanbul ) was a Turkish journalist and diplomat.
Life
Eren attended Robert College Istanbul as a boarding school from 1929 to 1924 . From 1934 he studied at the University of Istanbul . His wife married Neşet Eren in 1939, who graduated from Robert College in 1939 and with whom he had been friends since 1933. He entered the foreign service of Turkey. From 1945 to 1949 he was private advisor to Şükrü Saracoğlu in London . At UN headquarters , he led from 1954 to 1958 as a counselor at the UN headquarters, the news bureau in New York City . In 1958 he was appointed assistant to the permanent representative of the Turkish government at the UN headquarters. When the permanent representative of the Turkish government at the UN headquarters, Haluk Bayülken, was appointed foreign minister in 1972, Ahmet Nuri Eren temporarily held the post of permanent representative of the Turkish government at the UN headquarters. Haluk Bayülken suggested Ahmet Nuri Eren for the newly created office of Turkish ambassador to the government of the People's Republic of China , which not least made the post at the United Nations available for himself again. He was ambassador in Beijing from October 31, 1972 to May 7, 1974, after which he was retired .
He then worked in banking companies and made numerous publications on the subject of foreign policy .
