biography

Nuria González made her debut as an actress in the early 1990s, appearing on various Spanish television series. Her feature film debut followed in 1996 with a supporting role in Manuel Gómez Pereira's award-winning comedy Who Loves Live Dangerously with Ana Belén and Penélope Cruz . From 1997 to 2001 González took on the role of the jealous wife of Ángel de Andrés López in the Spanish series Manos a la obra . From 2003 to 2006 she was part of the cast of the critically and publicly popular television series Los Serrano , in which a patient Spanish professor and mother of two daughters (played by Belén Rueda ) married into a host family in Madrid.

In addition to her career as an actress, González also worked as a presenter on the popular program El rival más débil . Despite good ratings of almost 18 percent, González left the show in 2002 to focus more on her acting career. Chus Gutiérrez 'comedy El Calentito (2005) paved her first success as a film actress . The part of the maternal transsexual Antonia brought her awards at the Comedy Film Festival of Monte Carlo and the Film Festival Málaga . González was able to build on this success with Icíar Bollaín's award-winning tragic comedy Mataharis (2007), in which she slipped into the roles of three private detectives together with Najwa Nimri and María Vázquez . The supporting role of Carmen brought her in 2008 the first nomination for the Goya , Spain's most important film award, as well as the award of the Spanish Actors Association.

In addition to her work in film and television, Nuria González appears regularly as a stage actress, most recently at the end of March 2009 in the comedy Tres in Córdoba alongside Kiti Manver and Aurora Sánchez .
