Nurlan Onschanov

Nurlan Baimoldauly Onschanow ( Kazakh Нұрлан Баймолдаұлы Онжанов , Russian Нурлан Баймолданович Онжанов / Nurlan Bajmoldanowitsch Onschanow ; born November 25, 1960 ) is a Kazakh diplomat in Germany . He is married and has two children.

biography

Nurlan Onschanow was born in Kazakhstan in 1960 . He completed his studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin . From 1983 to 1986 he was a lecturer in Almaty and until 1992 he carried out his research in the Russian capital Moscow . Until 1994 he was an employee, head of department and Council of Ministers in the Ministry of Press and Mass Media of the Republic of Kazakhstan. From 1994 to 1996 he was senior consultant in the department for international relations in the Kazakh presidential office.

In 1996 he was posted as a diplomat. He became first secretary and counselor in Austria for two years and then counselor in Switzerland . In 2001 he was reappointed to Kazakhstan as Head of Economic Policy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs . From 2002 to 2003 he was Consul General in Frankfurt am Main before working again for the Kazakh Foreign Ministry. From 2004 to 2007 he was appointed Deputy Foreign Minister. From 2007 to 2008 he was Assistant to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan for International Affairs.

In March 2008 he returned to the diplomatic service for Kazakhstan as Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany. Since June 3, 2008 he has also been Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Denmark . Since July 2014, he has been an advisor to Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev .
