Nussbaum Medien is a publishing group in Baden-Württemberg that mainly prints and publishes official gazettes and private newsletters. The corporate group's headquarters in Bad Rappenau , Weil der Stadt , St. Leon-Rot , Rottweil , Uhingen and Horb , together with the branch offices in Echterdingen and Ettlingen and the branch offices in Dußlingen and Gaggenau, accommodate over 550 employees.

In addition to official gazettes and newsletters, Nussbaum Medien also offers a “citizen app”, the kaufinBW online shop and the local hero news portal and the Nussbaum Club.

Nussbaum Medien, formerly Nussbaum Verlag, specializes in the production of official and private newsletters. In the case of the latter, the publisher also acts as editor. The publishing group includes five production companies, two branch offices and eight publishing offices. The company mainly works for cities and municipalities with up to 20,000 inhabitants.

Weekly newsletters are produced for around 370 towns and cities. The total weekly circulation of the official and private newsletters is around 1.1 million copies. The content consists of current information on local events and advertisements from local and regional traders.

history

In 1959 Otto Steinhilber founded Primo-Verlag in Worms and specialized in the production of official and private newsletters. In 1964 the publishing house moved to Walldorf due to its growth due to its good geographical location. The official and private newsletters for twelve municipalities were produced with seven employees. The sheets could be produced cheaply through the use of the then innovative composite technology from IBM and offset printing. In 1966 and 1967, 20 official gazettes were published.

In 1972 Oswald Nussbaum took over Primo-Verlag, the founder Otto Steinhilber remained managing director. In 1988, the fully automatic full page break in the text area was introduced. Sheet-fed offset printing has been replaced by web offset printing .

In 1991 Klaus Nussbaum, the son of the company owner, took over the management of the publishing house as managing director. In 1996 the publishing house and printer moved to the newly built publishing house in St. Leon-Rot. In 1999 the web offset machine park was further expanded, the design of the advertising sheets was now fully digital, both in text and in images.

Two-color printing was introduced in 2000, supported by the economical computer-to-plate process . In 2001 Primo-Verlag became Nussbaum Medien St. Leon-Rot GmbH & Co. KG. In 2003 the company entered the telephone directory business with Nussbaum - Das Lokal .

The son of the company owner Oswald Nussbaum, Klaus Nussbaum, took over Nussbaum Medien St. Leon-Rot in 2004. In 2005 the publishing house Rundblick Druck und Medien in Bad Friedrichshall was added with 37 titles, in 2006 the Rundblick publishing house changed its name to Nussbaum Medien Bad Friedrichshall GmbH & Co. KG.

In 2007 the company kindergarten Oswald Nussbaum Kinderhaus was opened. The existing print shop was also expanded to accommodate another printing machine. At the same time, an internal change took place, with Brigitte Nussbaum, daughter of the company's founder Oswald Nussbaum, taking on the businesses in Weil der Stadt, Rottweil and Uhingen as the new owner.

Because of the city: In 2008 a second KBA “Cortina” was purchased, so that for the first time 64 color pages could be printed in one pass. At the same time, the new Internet portal GemeindeKlick started with Weil der Stadt as a pilot city. After a 50-year company anniversary in 2009, the online portal Lokalmatador.de went online for the first time in 2010.

In 2011 solar systems were built in Weil der Stadt for the production of environmentally friendly electricity. In April of this year, the Nussbaum Foundation was founded with the purpose of making charitable projects possible. Clubs in the fields of sport and culture are funded. The foundation also supports people or groups of people who are innocently in need.

In 2014 the GemeindeKlicks was relaunched. Join-in reporters are now reporting on what is going on in town on the communication platform. In 2017 the publishing group merged with the Stein printing company to form "Nussbaum Medien Bad Rappenau GmbH & Co. KG". Nussbaum Medien St. Leon-Rot GmbH & Co. KG also received an award as a socially committed company as part of the medium-sized company award for social responsibility. At the beginning of 2017, Klaus Nussbaum was appointed the sole owner of all Nussbaum media companies (Bad Rappenau, Rottweil, St. Leon-Rot, Uhingen, Weil der Stadt). On January 2, 2018, Nussbaum Medien took over the activities of Primo-Verlag Geiger in Horb and founded Nussbaum Medien Horb GmbH & Co. KG.

K. Nussbaum Vertriebs GmbH has specialized in the sale of advertisements. It was founded in 2007 and employs around 30 people. It was spun off from the Nussbaum Medien St. Leon-Rot company. In addition, the service has been offered to other small and medium-sized companies on the market for some time. The company is divided into the areas of field service, telephone sales and telephone services. The sales area of ​​the field service mainly extends over the Rhine-Neckar district and the northern district of Karlsruhe. The cities of Heidelberg, Mannheim and Karlsruhe are of great importance.
