Jean Claude Diallo (born November 21, 1945 in Conakry , Guinea ; † March 21, 2008 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a psychologist, Minister of the Republic of Guinea and Head of Integration for the City of Frankfurt am Main. Diallo was a member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen .

education and profession

Diallo studied history, geography and philosophy at the University of Kankan (Republic of Guinea) from 1966 to 1968. From 1969 to 1971 he studied psychology at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg . After completing his intermediate diploma, he moved to the Institute for Applied Psychology in Lausanne , where he completed his studies with a diploma. The main focus of his studies was career counseling, youth and family counseling, and individual therapy.

From 1980 to 1984 Diallo worked as a psychologist at the Psychosocial Center for Foreign Refugees of the Evangelical Regional Association Frankfurt am Main (ERV). From 1984 to 1986 he was a member of the government of the Republic of Guinea. Here he was first State Secretary and then Minister for Information and Culture as well as government spokesman. In 1986 he resigned as minister and returned to Germany. From 1986 to 1988 he helped to set up the psychosocial center for refugees in Düsseldorf as a psychologist . In 1988 he became head of the Psychosocial Center for Refugees in Frankfurt am Main, and in 1995 head of Department V, Ecumenical Affairs and Foreign Work at the Evangelical Regional Association in Frankfurt.

After Sékou Touré's death in 1984 and signs of democratization in Guinea, Diallo traveled to his home country for a film project with the documentary filmmaker Malte Rauch. After interviews and a. with President Lansana Conté he was appointed government spokesman and later Minister for Information and Culture. He resigned in 1986 and returned to Germany.

Since 1997, Jean Claude Diallo has been a voluntary councilor for Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen in the City of Frankfurt am Main. After the formation of a black-green alliance after the local elections in 2006, he was supposed to take over the integration department from Albrecht Magen in mid-2008 . However, since his predecessor died unexpectedly, Diallo was appointed Head of Integration by Mayor Petra Roth on January 1, 2007. Diallo was married and had two sons and two daughters.
