Nyang Ralpacan Nyima Oser ( Tib. : Nyang ral pa can nyi ma 'od zer ; born 1124 ; d. 1192 ) was an important Tertön the Nyingma -tradition of Tibetan Buddhism . He is one of the so-called Hundred Tertöns ( gter ston brgya rtsa ). The terma he discovered are referred to as Upper or Earlier Treasures , those discovered by Guru Chökyi Wangchug ( Guru Chos kyi dbang phyug ; 1212-1270) as Lower Treasures .

He is the author of a history of Buddhism in India and Tibet, the work nyang chos 'byung and chos' byung me tog snying po sbrang rtsi'i bcud (see main article Chronicle of Nyang Ral Nyima Öser ).
