Nydvind is a French pagan metal band from Paris . The group calls their music "Nordic Heathen Metal". Together with Himinbjorg, they are considered early pagan metal pioneers in France.
history
Nydvind formed as a duo in 2000. They released their debut album Eternal Winter Domain 2003 on the Sacral Productions label. In April 2006 they went on a European tour together with Kampfar . In 2009 the band came under contract with the German label Trollzorn Records . On January 18, 2020, Nydvind announced the departure of founding member and drummer Eric Tabourier. On January 25th, alongside the new lead guitarist Geoffroy Lacarrière, his successor, Charlie Videau, was introduced.
style
The music is Pagan Metal , which initially concentrated on lyrical themes from Nordic- Germanic mythology , but in more recent publications focuses more on the relationship to nature. Loudin also mentions Bathory , Satyricon and Immortal as early musical influences .
