OSS is a British / American television series from 1957/58, set in World War II and thematizes the activities of the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) in Europe . It was broadcast in Great Britain from September 14, 1957 to March 9, 1958 by ITV and slightly delayed in the USA by ATV . Guest stars were u. a. Lois Maxwell , Christopher Lee and Roger Delgado . Although the series is set primarily in occupied France , it was not dubbed there. It starred Ron Randell as Captain Frank Hawthorn, Lionel Murton as The Chief and Robert Gallico as Sergeant O'Brien.

During World War II, Captain Frank Hawthorne was an agent in the US Office of Strategic Services (OSS), which reports to the War Department . From the UK Hawthorne operated on by the German Wehrmacht occupied France , where he together with Sergeant O'Brien resistance groups supported against the German rule.

Production notes

The indoor shots were shot in Elstree Studios , the outdoor shots in England and France . William Eliscu, who had worked with OSS boss William J. Donovan during World War II, was also involved in the production . The intro from the off in the trailer suggested the authenticity of the game's plot shown:
