Ron Randell (born October 8, 1918 in Sydney , † June 11, 2005 in Mar Vista , Los Angeles , California ) was an Australian actor .

Life

Randell was born in Sydney , Australia . At the age of 17 he started out as an actor for radio shows, which eventually brought him to the stage. In 1942 he made his film debut with 100,000 Cobbers and then played small roles, including in 1944 alongside Humphrey Bogart in haben und nichthaben . The first major film role followed four years later: In 1946, he played the Australian aviation pioneer Charles Kingsford Smith in the Australian production Smithy .
