Dangerous Triangle (Exposed) is an American drama movie from 1983 . Directed by James Toback , who also wrote the script and produced the film.
action
The American Elizabeth Carlson studies in college and then travels to New York , where she first works as a waitress and later as a model . She becomes famous and meets the musician Daniel Jelline, with whom she falls in love.
Carlson accompanies Jelline to Paris, where she finds out that he is a terrorist. She is kidnapped by his enemies.
criticism
Janet Maslin wrote in the New York Times on April 22, 1983 that the title of the film about international terrorism and the world of fashion suggested "showmanship". Technically speaking, the film is the best work of the director, but he lacks the “urgency” of his earlier films. Maslin praised the presence of Nastassja Kinski, who appears “full of life” and “headstrong” in her role.
The London magazine TimeOut wrote that the film was an “eccentric melodrama” that “meanders” between the jet set of the fashion world and terrorist activities. Harvey Keitel does not convince in the role of the leader of the terror cell. The scriptwriter lacks the courage to take a closer look at the philosophical questions posed.
background
The film was shot in New York as well as in Paris and the surrounding area and on the premises of the University of Vermont .
