The Oberaltenburg 3 building is a listed former free house in the city of Merseburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located north of the castle gardens in Merseburg in a prominent corner location north of the confluence of the street Mühlberg on the street Oberaltenburg .

Architecture and history

The two-storey house was built in 1650 by the ducal building manager August Friedrich Gast . In 1733 the master builder Johann Michael Hoppenhaupt , and in 1863 the master organ builder Friedrich Gerhardt, became the owner of the property.

In the 19th century, alterations were made that changed the appearance of the facade. On the courtyard side there is a baroque inscription drapery held by putti .

In the local register of monuments , the house is listed as a historical building under registration number 094 20262 .
