The at 1523 m above sea level. A. lying Oberbrunnalm is an alpine hut in the Erlspitz group in the Karwendel in Tyrol ( Austria ). The pasture is managed in summer, the grazing livestock is around 70 cattle. It was built by the Alminteressenschaft Unterpettnau and renovated and expanded in 2005.

The tour from Gießenbach to the Oberbrunnalm and over the Hochwald or the Gleirschklamm to Scharnitz is a popular and varied mountain bike route.
Mountaineering
The Maderkarlspitze can be reached from the Oberbrunnalm. However, since the path is neither signposted nor regularly maintained, the ascent is not recommended for inexperienced users.
After a good half an hour's walk, you reach the zunlkopf, which is not adorned with a cross on the summit, but offers an even more beautifully situated bench with a table and a dream view of all four Karwendel chains, hidden behind mountain pines.
