The Landshut trolleybus was the trolleybus system of the Bavarian city of Landshut .
history
The Landshut trolleybus existed from November 27, 1948 to May 22, 1966 and was operated by the Landshut municipal transport company, which today operates under the Landshut municipal utilities . It was the successor to the Landshut tram , which ran from 1902 to 1945 and was no longer repaired after the Second World War . The trolleybus was replaced by omnibuses after its closure . The network consisted of the following three lines :
1 | Central station - Achdorf | 15-minute intervals |
2 | Wolfgang settlement - Achdorf | 20-minute intervals |
3 | Wolfgang settlement - Schönbrunn | 30-minute intervals |
The Achdorf terminus corresponds to today's Kupfereck stop, the Schönbrunn terminus was at today's Alte Kaserne stop. The vehicles were initially housed in the old tram depot on Schulstrasse, before a new trolleybus and omnibus depot went into operation in 1959/1960 in Niedermayerstrasse near the Schönbrunn terminus. Even after the end of regular trolleybus traffic, the municipal utilities continued to use the electric vehicles between the main train station and Schönbrunn for a few weeks to reinforce the bus routes until enough buses were available. July 1, 1966 has been handed down as the final hiring date.
