Oberseetal

The Oberseetal is a valley in the Swiss canton of Glarus . The valley begins in the Schwyzer Alps on Längeneggpass at 1,818  m above sea level. M. and is traversed by the Sulzbach. Sulzalp is to the left of the stream . Otherwise the valley is largely forested and contains the Obersee at 983  m above sea level. M. (not to be confused with the Obersee of Lake Zurich ), which gives it its name. From Näfels , a 3rd class road leads past Obersee to Sulzalp. The Niderseealp lies to the east of this small mountain lake at 1013  m above sea level. M. The Obersee does not contain any visible drainage. At the northeast end of the valley there is a swamp area with the Haslensee. The Rauti rises next door .
