Ochsenbach is a district of Leimen in the Rhein-Neckar district south of Heidelberg.
Neighboring places
The following places border Ochsenbach in a clockwise direction, starting in the north: Lingental , Gauangelloch , Schatthausen and Maisbach .
history
Ochsenbach was first mentioned in the list of Speyer serfs around 1300. In 1771 the village was united with the neighboring farm Maisbach under its own staff holder , and the hamlet of Lingental was assigned to this new municipality in 1797 . The three communities existed until 1935; after they had forcibly formed a unified community from 1935 to 1937, on April 1, 1937 Lingental was connected to Leimen , Maisbach to Nussloch and Ochsenbach to Gauangelloch .
When Gauangelloch was incorporated on October 1, 1973, Ochsenbach also became part of the town of Leimen.
Buildings
In the middle of Ochsenbach there is an old school house from 1837, which was expanded in 1877 and has been in the possession of the township since 1993, which has since created the Lindenplatz with the linden fountain behind it. In the Ochsenbach district, at 49 ° 20'12.22 "north latitude and 8 ° 43'58.47" east longitude, the transmitter of the NDB radio beacon "Neckar" NKR, which is important for air traffic, is located.
traffic
The most important street in the village is the 4157 district road from Nussloch via Maisbach to Gauangelloch. The county road branches off to the south to Schatthausen. The BRN bus line 757 runs to Heidelberg and Schatthausen.
