Octave Aubry
Octave Aubry (born September 1, 1881 in Paris , † March 27, 1946 there ) was a French historian and writer.
Life
In Paris, Aubry attended the Lycée Voltaire and the Lycée Charlemagne . He then studied history, among others with Albert Sorel . After stays in England and Spain, he decided to pursue a career as a writer in France.
He was accepted into the Académie française on February 14, 1946 together with Ernest Seillière , Jean Tharaud , René Grousset and Robert d'Harcourtin . This was the first group election as no elections were held during the previous occupation. Aubry succeeded Auxiliary Bishop Alfred Baudrillart ( Fauteuil 8 ).
He died just a month after his admission on March 27, 1946 in Paris, where he found his final resting place.

Its first publication was a meeting called De l'amour, de l'ironie, de la pitié . Due to his interest in history, he wrote numerous historical novels such as Louis XVII. , Bonaparte et Joséphine , Le Coup d'état de Brumaire and Marie Waleska .
As a historian, he was considered a connoisseur of the 19th century and wrote several scientific works on personalities of that time, such as Napoléon III. , the Empress Eugénie , Une histoire du Second Empire , La Vie privée de Napoléon or La Révolution française .
