Octidi

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The twelve months of the republican calendar of the French Revolution are each divided into three "decades" of ten days. Octidi is the eighth day of a decade. The 8th, 18th and 28th of each month fall on an Octidi.

Day names

The Octidi's day names should (like most other day names) be agricultural crops. Only in the Nivôse should the days be named after minerals and animal substances. The National Assembly deviated in part from this original Fabre d'Églantine concept .
